Watersheds and river basins work together to move water around a region.
Watersheds are from a higher elevated area to a lower elevated area where water flows down and goes into a river basin.
River Basins are a bit smaller and have a basic movement of water where water goes into a large body of water.
Groundwater moves from the higher elevated areas to the lower areas underground and usually pools at a low elevation. Runoff water is mainly the water that is being moved through these areas. Runoff water flows to where the majority of water is and joins it to travel.
Tributaries are smaller streams of water that flow into bigger bodies of water. The water coming through watersheds are typically in tributaries and end up flowing to bigger bodies of water.
